- Sergeant Serhii Zorskyi (call sign Barmalei) was killed on June 8, 2023 near the village of Chervona Krynytsia, Zaporizhzhia Oblast. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal injuries during enemy artillery shelling. The warrior was 52 years old. Serhii was born and lived in Zaporizhzhia. He obtained a degree in civil engineering from the Zaporizhzhia Construction College. He served his military conscription in Germany. After returning home, he worked at various enterprises in his region, including ZaporizhAliuminiibud, Zaporizhpromhbud, Interpromhbud. He participated in the construction of the Zaporizhzhia Transformer Plant, PJSC Pluton, the Converter Plant, Zaporizhzhia Titanium and Magnesium Plant, the Eco Tower business center, and the Four Points by Sheraton twin towers. From 2012, he worked as an engineer at Zaporizhkoks. In 2014-2015, he fought in the ATO in Donbas as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After being discharged, he returned to the position of chief specialist in the security department of BSG LLC. In 2018, he completed his master's degree in Industrial and Civil Engineering at the Zaporizhzhia State Engineering Academy. He loved science fiction. He dreamed of buying a motorhome and traveling around Ukraine with his family. He very much enjoyed going ice skating with his daughter. After the victory over the occupiers, Serhii planned to rebuild Ukraine and start his own business. On February 25, 2022, Serhii went to the military enlistment office to return to the ranks of the defenders of Ukraine. He was assigned to serve in the National Guard of Ukraine. He became the commander of the calculation of a self-propelled artillery unit of the 15th Operational Purpose Brigade named after Hero of Ukraine Lieutenant Bohdan Zavada. He immediately went to the frontline. In April, he was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree. Serhii's wife Olha said: "Serhii was an extraordinary person. He combined phenomenal computational and engineering skills, strong willpower, integrity, honesty, and at the same time, caring, a great sense of humor, charisma, and artistry. He was a support for everyone - an exceptional specialist at work, a reliable comrade-in-arms for his friends at the front, and the family could always rely on him. He could have created much more, but the Russians took him from us and from Ukraine." Their daughter Sofia added: "Dad was an extraordinary personality. He combined phenomenal computational and engineering skills, strong willpower, integrity, honesty, and at the same time, caring, a great sense of humor, charisma, and artistry. He could have created much more, but the Russians took him from us and from Ukraine." The hero was buried in the cemetery of St. Nicholas in his hometown. Serhii is survived by his wife, daughter from his first marriage, relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
