Serhii B. Melnyk

Born on January 23, 1984, in the village of Silets, Sokal District, Lviv Region. Graduated from a general education school. On August 2, 2014, mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Served as a rifleman-assistant grenade launcher of the 3rd platoon of the 3rd company of the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1778 (field post V4673), city of Mukachevo, Transcarpathian region). Participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On July 31, 2015, soldier Melnyk was killed while performing a combat mission in the area of the urban-type settlement Bilovodsk, Bilovodsk District, Luhansk Region. On August 4, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Silets, Sokal District, Lviv Region.
