- Sergeant Serhii Shuran (call sign Kalyvan) was killed on February 2, 2023, on his 46th birthday, in battle near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. Prior to this, he had spent three days under intense shelling along with his comrades-in-arms. In the evening of that day, another group was supposed to replace them. However, the occupiers did not give him a chance to survive. Serhii was born and lived in Lviv. He studied at local school No. 30. Later, he graduated from the Stepan Gzhytskyi Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnologies. After completing his military service, he worked in the Department of the State Criminal-Executive Service in the Lviv region. He was a member of the assault group of the special unit "Tsyklon 5". Later, he began to engage in international freight transportation. In his free time, he loved fishing. With the start of the full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the 125th Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At different times, he was a deputy commander, commander, and chief sergeant of a platoon. "When the full-scale offensive began, Serhii was abroad. As a truck driver, he had the opportunity to continue driving to deliver humanitarian aid. But he made a choice - he stood up to defend Ukraine. He always said: 'I have knowledge and experience, I can teach 20-year-olds who are just learning to defend the Motherland,'" said the deceased's wife, Iryna. The warrior was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery's Marso Field in Lviv. Serhii is survived by his mother, wife, and two daughters.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
