Serhii D. Nebozhak (Frantsuz)

Born on September 4, 1965, in the village of Pavlivka, Illinetsky District, Vinnytsia Oblast. Graduated from high school. Served mandatory military service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the USSR. From February 4, 2015, to June 2016, he served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under partial mobilization, called up by the Illinetsky District Military Commissariat of Vinnytsia Oblast. He served in the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409 (field post V2731), city of Novograd-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr Oblast). During 2015-2016, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Call sign "Frenchman." From July 15, 2016, he served under contract in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a senior mechanic-driver of the mechanized company of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409 (field post V2731), city of Novograd-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr Oblast). From July 2016, he again participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On August 8, 2016, as a result of an explosion from an explosive device near the city of Volnovakha, Donetsk Oblast, senior soldier Nebozhak lost both legs and also sustained multiple gunshot shrapnel wounds. During the provision of first aid, the soldier died. He was buried on August 11, 2016, in the cemetery of the village of Pavlivka, Illinetsky District, Vinnytsia Oblast.
