Serhii E. Sukhyi (Kaban)

Senior Soldier Serhii Sukhyi (call sign Kaban) was killed on March 21, 2023 while performing a combat mission in the area of the settlement of Druzhba in the Donetsk region. The defender was 21 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Shevchenkove, Mykolaiv region. He graduated from a rural school. In 2020, he received a diploma of a junior specialist at the Mykolaiv College of Transport Infrastructure of the Dnipro National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan. He lived in Mykolaiv. He worked at the company "KUTERMINALS OLVIA". In his free time, he loved fishing. During the full-scale Russian invasion, he defended the Motherland as part of the 101st separate brigade of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine named after Colonel-General Hennadiy Vorobyov. Serhii was a grenadier and successfully destroyed the enemy. He believed in victory and very much wanted to return home. "He was the best guy, son, nephew, brother and faithful friend. He loved his family very much. He was kind, caring, fair, purposeful, energetic. He loved this life. He spent a lot of time with his godfather. He loved fishing very much. Even when he came on vacation for 10 days, he ran to the river to fish... From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he bravely defended our country in the hot spots of the Donetsk region. But this damned war took him from us. It will never be possible to believe in this. This is a wound that will bleed throughout our lives. Our Angel will forever remain in our hearts," said the fallen warrior's beloved Olha. The hero was buried in the village of Ulianovka, Mykolaiv region. Serhii is survived by his parents, sister, girlfriend, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
