Serhii F. Budkovyi (Sieryi)

Soldier Serhii Budkovyi (call sign Sieryi) died on June 12, 2023, in a battle with the occupiers near the city of Bakhmut, Donetsk region. The defender sustained fatal shrapnel wounds during enemy shelling. Serhii was born in the village of Yelyzavetivka, Dnipropetrovsk region. He lived in the city of Kamianske. There he graduated from school No. 29 and the Metallurgical College. He served his mandatory military service. Later, he obtained a higher education at the Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture. For a long time, he worked as a foreman at LLC "Mostobudivelnyi zaghin 112", and then abroad. He was married and raised two children. He dedicated his free time to his family. The man was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine on March 23, 2022. He served in the motorized rifle battalion of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar". Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the hottest fronts. In March 2023, the soldier was awarded the medal "Defender of the Motherland", and in December of the same year, posthumously - the Order of Courage III degree. "My beloved husband was a very kind, honest and fair person. He always helped others and saved more than one life. I miss him very much..." - said the wife of the fallen. Serhii was buried in his native village. At home, his wife Anna, daughter Anastasia, and son Bohdan were waiting for him.
