Serhii H. Kyriachok (Moriachok)

Soldier Serhii Kyrychok (call sign Matros) was killed on February 27, 2024 near the village of Minkovka in the Donetsk region. The warrior received injuries incompatible with life during an enemy mortar shelling. The defender was 45 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Opishnya, Poltava region. After graduating from high school, he entered the National University "Poltava Polytechnic named after Yurii Kondratiuk". In civilian life, he worked as a construction engineer. He lived with his family in Poltava. He loved sports, especially football, since childhood. During the full-scale invasion, in 2023, he was mobilized into the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He held the position of rifleman - grenade launcher assistant. "He was an extremely courageous person, fought 50 meters from the enemy, and repeatedly saved his comrades-in-arms," said his wife Elizaveta. Serhii was buried in his native village. He is survived by his parents, wife, and underage son. The warrior was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree. On October 23, 2024, a memorial plaque in his honor was installed on the facade of the school in Opishnya where the defender studied.
