Serhii H. Senyk

Junior Sergeant Serhiy Senyk was killed on September 29, 2022, during an artillery shelling near the village of Mykolaivka Druha in Donetsk region. In August, the defender turned 35 years old. Serhiy was born in the village of Stepovi Khutory in the Chernihiv region. He graduated from the local secondary school. He earned a degree in agronomy at the Bobrovytsia Technical School. In 2008, he completed his mandatory military service. He loved to sing and play the guitar, and he deeply loved his wife and little daughter. In 2014-2015, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and then returned to civilian life. When the full-scale war began, Serhiy returned to defend Ukraine from the first days. He held the position of scout-machine gunner in military unit A7105 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "Serhiy Senyk was an extraordinarily kind, sincere, and open person, with a big heart filled with love for his family, for people, and most of all — for Ukraine. He underwent military training back in 2014 during the ATO, so when Russia treacherously invaded Chernihiv region, he could not stand aside," noted the Nosivka community. "He was a very bright, kind person. He was the life of the party and a reliable shoulder for his family. A good, loving father and husband," said his friend Aliona. The defender was buried in his native village. At home, Serhiy was awaited by his parents, brother, wife, and 5-year-old daughter Sofia.
