Serhii H. Zakrzhevskyi (Kasper)

Aerial reconnaissance officer Serhii Zakrzhevskyi (call sign Casper) was killed on January 9, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the Donetsk region. Near the village of Burlatske, the defender came under enemy artillery fire and received fatal injuries. He was 48 years old. Serhii was from the city of Dnipro. In 1993, he graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk College of Automation and Telemechanics, obtaining the qualification of a technician-mathematician-programmer. He worked as a system administrator. He participated in the ATO in Donbas. He spent all his free time with his wife and son. They would go for walks in the forest, collect mushrooms, and travel together. He also loved to engage in technical modifications of computers. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Serhii took up arms for the second time and stood to defend his native country. He joined the separate brigade of the territorial defense of Dnipro. He served in aerial reconnaissance. In May, Sergeant Serhii Zakrzhevskyi was awarded the honorary badge of the General Staff "For Excellence in Military Service" of the III degree. "A wonderful father, a loving husband. He loved life, his family, and Ukraine very much. Serhii and Oryna were born on the same day - April 15. They have been married for 21 years. Serhii was shy, restrained, courageous, talented, a real man. He adored his family. They were always together for all holidays and vacations," said the deceased's friend Olha. The warrior was buried in his hometown. At home, Serhii was awaited by his wife Oryna and son Volodymyr.
