Serhii I. Horokhivskyi (Komandir)

Lieutenant Serhiy Horokhivskyi (call sign Commander) died in a hospital on June 10, 2022, from injuries received the day before while performing a combat mission in Donetsk region. On July 23, the defender would have turned 30 years old. Serhiy was born in the village of Ulyanivka, Mykolaiv region. After finishing school, he went to Mykolaiv, where he entered the university. During his studies, he passed the military department and received the rank of reserve officer. He was engaged in self-development. He loved fishing. In 2015-2016, he took part in the ATO. On the third day of the full-scale invasion, on February 27, 2022, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade. He commanded a platoon. "He was a man of his word, always defended our country! We love and respect him," said the wife of the deceased, Natalia. The warrior was buried in his native village. Serhiy left behind his parents, brother, wife, and two children.died
