Serhii I. Radchuk (Radyk)

Senior soldier Serhii Radchuk (call sign Radyk) was killed on February 25, 2022 in the area of Shylova Balka tract in the Kherson region. While defending near the Antonivskyi Bridge, he received a fatal injury as a result of enemy shelling from "Grads". The warrior was forever 22 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Losyach, Ternopil region. The upbringing of the boy and his sister was mostly carried out by their grandmother and grandfather. Later they moved to another grandmother, in the village of Mylyatychi, Lviv region. After finishing school, Serhii entered the Lviv Interregional Center for Vocational Education in Artistic Modeling and Design, where he obtained the profession of a bartender and waiter. From childhood, he was passionate about football, loved to watch matches and knew everything about this sport. He also loved animals very much. In 2019, the young man went to serve in the army, and later decided to connect his life with the military and signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 80th separate air assault brigade. He carried out combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation. At the time of the full-scale war, he held the position of commander of the air assault platoon. "I miss him very much. He was more to me than a brother, you can say like a son, because I have been taking care of him since childhood... He was a very bright person, he never offended anyone, he always went to help everyone. He loved his country and honesty very much. In that battle, when he was killed, aviation, tanks and "Grads" were working on them. My brother and his comrades-in-arms held the defense for a day, but there were a lot of enemy equipment. Then many warriors fell... And my brother... The comrades-in-arms sent a photo where he is dead on the battlefield, but the body was never found..." - said the deceased's sister Svitlana. The defender left behind his parents, grandmother, sister and two nephews.
