Serhii I. Sharuda

Sergeant Serhii Sharuda was killed on January 18, 2023 near the city of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region. He received fatal injuries during enemy artillery shelling of the positions of Ukrainian defenders. The defender was 41 years old. Serhii was from the Rivne region. He obtained a higher education at the European University, where he studied "Economics and Entrepreneurship". He served in the army in the guard company in Rivne. He was a private entrepreneur, engaged in the sale of furniture. He loved fishing, liked to collect mushrooms and was knowledgeable about them. He cooked deliciously and often experimented with dishes. He liked to drive a car, had over 20 years of driving experience. He always took his children and wife with him. In his free time, he liked to watch interesting movies or cartoons with his sons. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to protect his family and homeland. He served in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo. He was a radio miner in the engineering and sapper platoon. "Serhii always wanted to help people. I remember how in a blizzard, despite being in a hurry, we stopped to help another car, and then a few more. Then Serhii said that he simply could not do otherwise: if a person is in trouble, you cannot refuse. He was a true warrior and considered it an honor to protect his children and the Motherland," said the wife of the fallen Inna. The defender was buried in the "Nove" cemetery in Rivne. Serhii is survived by his wife Inna and sons Serhii and Matvii.
