Serhii L. Hroshov

Serhii Leonidovych Hroshov was born on June 2, 1983, in the village of Panivtsi, Kamianets-Podilskyi district, Khmilnytskyi region, and lived in the neighboring village of Kalynia, where the whole family moved. He graduated from the secondary school in the village of Kulchiyivka. He served his military service at the Faculty of Military Training of Kamianets-Podilskyi National University named after Ivan Ohiienko. With the outbreak of the war in Eastern Ukraine, he was mobilized in 2014. After a year of military service as part of the Aidar battalion, Serhii Hroshov signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the 80th Airborne Assault Brigade. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and was at the front. He took part in the battles near Izyum. There he received a severe shrapnel wound to the head and fell into a coma. He was taken to the capital to the Feofania hospital. However, the doctors were unable to save the defender. Serhii Hroshov died on September 21, 2022. The farewell ceremony with the fallen took place on September 24, 2022, in his native village.
