Serhii L. Romanchenko (Pysar)

Sergeant Serhii Romanchenko (call sign "Pyskar) was killedon February 24, 2023 near the city of Kreminna in the Luhansk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he sustained fatal injuries as a result of enemy fire. The defender was 38 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Myrhorodshchyna, Poltava region. He studied at the Poltava Institute of Economics and Management "Svitoch" with a degree in "Management of Organizations". In peaceful life, he loved to work the land and grow any crops - this was his true hobby. He had his own orchard: apple trees, nuts, peaches, raspberries. During the full-scale war, the man defended his country in the ranks of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of senior sapper. "Serhii was a loving son, strong, brave. He loved life, his relatives, the land where he was born and raised," said his mother Liubov Fedosiivna. Serhii was buried in his native village. The warrior is survived by his parents and brother. Posthumously, the soldier was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree. A memorial plaque was installed in his honor at the House of Culture in the village of Rybalky.
