      Killed in action on December 29, 2014, in a battle with Russian armed formations that attacked the positions of Ukrainian soldiers near the village of Pisky in the Yasynuvata district of Donetsk region. Sergey was shot by a machine-gun burst while trying to extract an injured comrade from encirclement.
