Serhii M. Aliiev

Sergeant Serhii Aliev (call sign Ali) was killed on March 20, 2022, while repelling an enemy tank attack near the village of Kamyanka in the Kharkiv region. The warrior was 28 years old. Serhii was born and raised in the village of Pidhorodna, Mykolaiv region. He graduated from the Pervomaisky Professional Industrial Lyceum. He served in the ATO in the Donetsk direction. After his service, he worked in a private security and security services company, for which he underwent special training. He later decided to move abroad, where he worked in construction. He loved to engage in combined martial arts and running, traveled a lot, and had pets - a cat and a dog. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Serhii was a serviceman of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and defended the borders and independence of Ukraine in the area of the Joint Forces Operation. He met the great war at the forefront and held the position of chief sergeant of the mortar battery. "Serhii was fair, I always remember him with a smile and a positive attitude towards life, he was constantly joking, had many friends. Stern, courageous outwardly and kind and sincere in the soul. He loved to travel and do sports, since childhood he took home stray kittens and puppies. I kept in touch with Serhii until the end. From the first days of the war, he and his brothers-in-arms took the blow in the village of Kamyanka - fierce battles took place there. Serhii briefly reported that they were taking prisoners and capturing a lot of equipment. He was concussed, after two days of treatment at the stabilization point, he returned to the ranks to continue the fight together with his brothers-in-arms, and after three days he was no longer in touch. The whole village met the young hero on a shield - with respect, gratitude and great sadness in the soul," his classmate and friend Kateryna said. The paratrooper was buried in his native village. At home, he was awaited by his mother, sister, other relatives and friends. Posthumously, Serhii Aliev was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
