Serhii M. Butyrin

31-year-old paratrooper Serhiy Butyrin was killed on November 15, 2022 during a battle with the occupiers in the Luhansk region. Serhiy was born in Mariupol, Donetsk region. He obtained the profession of an electric gas welder at the Mariupol Vocational Lyceum of the Service and Trade Sphere. After graduation, he served in the army in the Donetsk region. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, the man joined the defense of his native Mariupol along with local self-defense units. Later, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the ranks of the 90th separate airmobile battalion of the 81st brigade of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a senior gunner of the grenade launcher section. "Eternal memory to the fallen defenders of Mariupol! Glory to Ukraine!" - said the Mariupol City Council. The defender was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. Serhiy is survived by his parents and son.
