Serhii M. Kasian (Kazka)

Sailor Serhii Kasian (call sign Kazka) was killed on August 6, 2023 near the settlement of Urozhaine in the Donetsk region. While rescuing his comrades in battle with the enemy, he sustained a fatal explosive injury. The hero was 26 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Rozhivka, Kyiv region. He studied at Pukhivska secondary school. For some time he worked as a baker. Later he opened his own business and engaged in smartphone repair. In April 2023, the man was drafted into military service in the Ukrainian Navy. Serhii joined the 37th separate marine brigade. He held the position of intelligence officer in the reconnaissance platoon's data collection and processing squad. "My brother was always a very good person, he never refused if asked for help. He defended the Motherland until his last breath. Even in the last minutes of his life, he saved his comrades," said Anna Kasian. The marine was buried in his native village. His father and two sisters were waiting for him at home.
