Serhii M. Kurianov (Vorchun)

Sailor Serhii Kurianov (call sign Grumbler) was killed on February 28, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near the Tendrivska Kosa island in the Kherson region. The defender was 33 years old. Serhii was born in Derhachi, Kharkiv region. He graduated from Derhachi Gymnasium No. 3. In peacetime, he worked as a mechanic at the "SANOIL" enterprise. After the start of the full-scale invasion, he could not stand aside and joined the 73rd Naval Special Operations Center named after Koshovyi Otaman Antin Holovatyi, taking the position of a mechanic in the boat platoon. "He was a kind, open-hearted person, a loving father to his only daughter, and a true friend to everyone who knew him," said the warrior's ex-wife Iryna. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Semenske Cemetery in his hometown. Serhii left behind a daughter, who was 7 years old at the time of his death, his ex-wife, sister, and niece. Posthumously, Sailor Serhii Kurianov was awarded the Order of Courage, Third Degree.
