  Born on March 2, 1976, in the village of Dniprelstans (now Pankove) in the Solonyansky district of Dnipropetrovsk region. Graduated from a general education school. In March 2015, he was mobilized as a volunteer into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 30th Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409, in the city of Novograd-Volynsky, Zhytomyr region). Since 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On December 10, 2015, soldier Makhtura was killed by a sniper's bullet at a checkpoint near the urban-type settlement of Luhanske in the Artemivsk (now Bakhmut) district of Donetsk region. On December 15, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Dniprelstans (now Pankove) in the Solonyansky district of Dnipropetrovsk region.
