Biography
Mushchytskyi Serhii Mykolaiovych was born on February 5, 1987, in the village of Vysokopillia, Beryslav district, Kherson region. In 2004, after graduating from school, he entered the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National Air Force University. He graduated in 2009, met his future wife, and later married. In 2010, the couple had a son. After graduation, he went to serve in the 10th separate brigade of naval aviation. In 2014, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was at the forefront. He held the military position of a helicopter crew member of the Mi-14 of the 10th Naval Aviation Brigade. He died on May 7, 2022, along with his colleagues. That day, during the search and rescue operations in the area of the Danube estuary, thanks to the pilot's impeccable skills, Colonel Ihor Bedzai, the helicopter managed to evade after two shots from the enemy Su-30 fighter. However, the R-73 guided missile launched from the same aircraft hit the Mi-14, and it crashed with five Ukrainian military personnel on board. On May 11, 2022, Serhii Mushchytskyi was buried at the Mishkovo cemetery in Mykolaiv.Burial place
