- Serhii Naidenko, a fighter, was killed on May 12, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. In June, the defender would have turned 48 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Katerynopil, Cherkasy region. He studied at the local Lyceum No. 2. Then he graduated from the Mokrokaligirske Vocational School and the Smilyansky Radio Technical School. He worked in the editorial office of the district newspaper. Later, he settled in Kyiv. There, he was a master at a private company specializing in Italian furniture. In 2016, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Donbas. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man again stood up to defend Ukraine from the occupiers. He served in the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General-Cornet Marko Bezruchko. He was a sniper. "He adored traveling with his family. He was a faithful friend, a wonderful husband, and a father to his daughter, whom he interested in fishing from an early age," said the wife of the deceased, Alina. "The long-awaited son, the mother's pride, the support and hope. She did not think that in her old age she would have to bury her son and live the rest of her life alone. Whatever you look at in the house, it was made by the hands of her son. In the yard, there is a gazebo that he built. Everything preserves the warmth of his soul. A jack-of-all-trades. He inherited the ability to work with wood from his late grandfather, Yosyp Oleksandrovych. From a young age, he grew up as a curious and clever boy. He was a highly qualified and literate master in assembling sophisticated furniture of any complexity. Glory to the Hero! Eternal memory to the warrior and condolences to the relatives!" added the Katerynopil settlement council. Serhii was buried at the Berkovetske Cemetery in Kyiv. He left behind a mother, wife, and daughter. In June 2023, a memorial plaque in honor of the fallen hero was installed on the facade of Katerynopil Lyceum No. 2.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
