Serhii M. Perehonchuk (Viter)

Senior Lieutenant Serhii Perehonchuk (call sign Wind) was killedon February 26, 2023, in combat near the settlement of Spirne in the Donetsk region. The officer was 45 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Trushky, Kyiv region. He studied at the local school No. 4. Then he graduated from the Tulchyn Veterinary College and the Bila Tserkva State Agrarian University. He worked in the veterinary police for a long time. He lived with his family in the city of Kalynivka, Vinnytsia region. Since 2014, the man has been defending Ukraine from Russian occupiers. He participated in the ATO / JFO in Donbas. In 2022, Serhii continued to fulfill his military duty. He fought in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was a platoon commander in the 14th Operational Purpose Brigade "Chervona Kalyna". "Serhii was a real man, kind, incredibly romantic and caring, positive, sensitive. He was a person of a sincere soul and an open heart, a conscientious citizen and a true patriot who has been defending our country since 2014. With people like him, it would be worth building the future of the state. He gave the most precious - his life, for each of us," said the wife of the fallen Olha. Serhii was buried in the Alley of Glory of the central cemetery in his hometown. At home, he was awaited by his mother Olena, wife Olha, daughter Sofiia, and son Andrii. The officer was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree and promoted to the rank of Captain.
