Serhii M. Prudych (Brat, Medyk)

Sergeant Serhii Prudych (call sign Medic, Brother) was killed on May 8, 2023 near the city of Kreminna in the Luhansk region. During enemy artillery shelling, he saved the life of his comrade, but sustained fatal injuries himself. The defender was 37 years old. Serhii was from the village of Avdotivka, Dnipropetrovsk region. He was a farmer, the head of the Scorpion-5 farm, and a deputy of the Sofiivska village council of the VII convocation. In 2014-2015, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation as part of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in the Donetsk region, liberated Avdiivka, defended the Donetsk Airport and the village of Pisky. After demobilization, he continued to engage in farming. He devoted a lot of time to ATO fighters and their families. He actively participated in the national-patriotic upbringing of children and youth. During the full-scale war, in March 2022, he joined the ranks of the defenders again, volunteering for the Dnipro-1 battalion. He eventually became the senior mechanic-driver of the operational platoon of the operational company of the 31st (Dnipro) Brigade named after Major General Oleksandr Radiievskyi of the National Guard of Ukraine. He participated in the defense and liberation of settlements in the Donetsk, Kharkiv and Luhansk regions. His friends and comrades described him as an embodiment of indomitability, a true rock, someone who loved his land, and a real hero.
