Serhii M. Samar

Sergeant Serhii Samar died on April 21, 2022 near Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. In the battle with the enemy, he received fatal injuries during a mortar bombardment. The defender was 41 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Olshanytsia, Kyiv region. He graduated from the Kyiv Electromechanical College. He was a profession as an electromechanical automatic control systems specialist. He worked at Ukrzaliznytsia. He dedicated his free time to sports. In early March 2022, the man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General-Cornet Marko Bezruchko. He held the position of senior grenade launcher gunner. "A courageous patriot of his Homeland, the best father, son, husband, brother, good friend, cheerful, sociable guy. He had plans for life and, like thousands of such young, purposeful and the best-of-the-best, gave his life for the future of Ukraine," said the deceased's wife, Oksana. Serhii was buried in his native village. The warrior is survived by his mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters.
