- Sergeant Serhii Svitlyk (call sign Volunteer) of the police, was killed on July 19, 2023 near the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he was moving on an infantry fighting vehicle. As a result of a hit by an enemy missile, he received a fatal wound. A day before this, the defender turned 27 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Bilovodsk, Luhansk region. He obtained a secondary technical education in the specialty of "Programming". After completing his conscript service, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. Since 2017, he has been working in the National Police of Ukraine in Mykolaiv. He devoted all his free time to his family, raising his 6-year-old son Tymur. He respected and supported his mother and sister. During the full-scale war, the man continued to serve in the police ranks and perform his duties. When the Assault Guard was created in March 2023, Serhii joined the united assault brigade of the National Police "Fury". He served in the assault regiment "Tsunami". While repeatedly carrying out combat missions, the defender returned from the front and almost never told anyone about the dangers and risks that awaited him. Serhii protected the peace of his family and loved ones. The terrible things that happened on his path were only revealed by his endless wounds and concussions. He recovered, underwent treatment and returned to battle. The policeman was buried in the village of Radisny Sad in the Mykolaiv region. Serhii is survived by his mother, sister, wife, son, relatives, friends, colleagues and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
