Serhii O. Baliuk (Kant)

Senior Soldier Serhii Baliuk (call sign Kant) was killed on February 20, 2024 near the village of Verbove in the Zaporizhia region. The warrior in the APC went to pick up his comrades from the position, on the way back the enemy struck the vehicle with anti-tank ballistics. The body of the defender was completely burned. He was 30 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Hariachkivka in the Vinnytsia region. After school, he obtained the profession of a tractor driver at a vocational school. He worked as an excavator operator at PJSC "PK "Podillia". He loved technology and knew how to handle it. Family was the most important thing in his life. He was mobilized into the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine on February 24, 2023. He served in the 14th Brigade of Operational Designation "Red Viburnum", holding the position of gunner-operator of the 1st section of the 2nd platoon of operational designation (on armored personnel carriers) of the 5th battalion of operational designation. "He was an incredible person, a beloved husband, a loving father and a skilled master," said his wife Vitalina. The warrior was buried in his native village. The defender left behind his mother Nina, brother Vadym, wife Vitalina and son Kostiantyn, who was only 1 year old at the time of his father's death.
