Serhii O. Batiashov (Batia)

Batjashov Serhii Oleksandrovych was born on June 23, 1983, in Svitlovodsk, Kirovohrad Oblast. He studied at the Dnipropetrovsk Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Kharkiv Engineering and Pedagogical Academy, and the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National Air Force University. He went to war in 2014, serving in the Tornado police company. In 2015, he was awarded the public award "For the Defense of the Homeland." He actively participated in the Tornado rehabilitation campaign and the release of its fighters. He organized pickets and protests. He was persecuted during the Poroshenko era. He is a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war since 2014. Since February 24, 2022, he fought in the UVO company as part of the 112th Territorial Defense Brigade. Later, the company was transferred to a separate presidential brigade. He repeatedly escaped from fire pockets, the last time being on the eve of his death. He was killed on December 18, 2022, in battles with Russian invaders in the Bakhmut direction.
