Serhii O. Bereka (Anubis)

Sergeant Serhii Bereka (call sign Anubis) was killed on January 13, 2024 during a battle in the Bakhmut direction. The defender was forever 26 years old. Serhii lived in the village of Kelmentsi, Chernivtsi region. After school, he obtained vocational education at the Kelmentsi Vocational Lyceum. In civilian life, he worked at the Graviton plant in Chernivtsi. In his free time, he loved fishing and was passionate about motorcycles. During the full-scale war, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to protect his home and family from the occupiers. He served in the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, holding the position of squad commander. "A kind, honest and dedicated person who never left anyone in trouble," said his childhood friend Oleksandr Lapushniak. The warrior was buried in the village of Nahoriani, Chernivtsi region. Serhii is survived by his mother, uncle, grandfather, close ones, friends and comrades-in-arms.
