- 51-year-old Sergeant Serhiy Bilodid (call sign Dida) was killed on August 29, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers in the area of the village of Sukhy Stavok in Kherson Oblast. During enemy artillery shelling, he shielded a combat medic with his own body but sustained fatal injuries himself. Serhiy was from Kirovohrad Oblast and lived in the village of Hanno-Trebynivka. In 1989, he graduated from Kyiv Vocational School No. 26 and obtained the specialty of a locksmith-plumber. He then served in the military for a conscription period. For the last 20 years, he worked on a combine harvester and loved this job very much. He was interested in electric gas welding and had a knack for anything that involved working with his hands. During the full-scale war, he went to defend his loved ones and his country from the enemy. Serhiy served in the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after the Cossack Ataman Kosty Hordiienko. He held the position of combat vehicle commander — squad commander. "My dad is a man with a capital letter, so kind, sensitive, and loving! He would always come to help, never refused anyone. A man who could do just about anything, even the impossible, but he would always find a way and do it. Very smart. There are no more like him," said the daughter of the fallen, Maryna. The soldier was buried in the village of Hanno-Trebynivka in Kirovohrad Oblast. At home, his wife, children, and grandson were waiting for Serhiy.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
