Serhii O. Borodavko

Soldier Serhii Borodavko was killed on February 26, 2023, in battle with Russian invaders near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. Enemy mortar shelling took the life of the warrior. He was 39 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Parafiyivka, Chernihiv region. He studied at the Parafiyivka secondary school. Then he went to work on a local farm. In 2003-2004, he served his military service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, he worked in various jobs, including as a milkman. In 2015-2016, the man took part in the ATO in Donbas. He fought as part of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade. Later, he returned home and continued to live a civilian life. He lived with his beloved in the Chernihiv region, working at the STOV "Irzhavets". During the full-scale Russian invasion, in March 2022, Serhii again took up the defense of Ukraine. This time he joined the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He served in the 3rd Brigade of Special Purpose named after Colonel Petro Bolbochan. He held the position of a rifleman-assistant gunner. "Eternal memory to Serhii. Light clouds and human gratitude forever," wrote the fallen's countrywoman Svitlana. The defender was buried in his native village next to his stepfather Serhii Kurbai, who died in December 2022 in the Luhansk region. Serhii is survived by his grandmother, mother, brothers, sisters and beloved.
