Serhii O. Branish (Bulat)

Soldier Serhii Branish (call sign Bulat) was killed on May 5, 2023, in battle for the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. His life was cut short by enemy missile shelling. The defender was 37 years old. Serhii was from the Kharkiv region. However, he lived in the city of Obukhiv in the Kyiv region. He obtained a secondary education. He worked as a construction worker. In 2014, he volunteered for the ATO. He fought as part of the TRO battalion "Kyivan Rus". He participated in combat operations in the hottest spots: Debaltseve, Ilovaisk, Sloviansk, Horlivka. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man again took up arms and went to the front. He joined the ranks of the 114th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a machine gunner in the 135th battalion. "My children are my life. They took half of me... I miss my son very much," said Halyna Branish. The military was buried in Obukhiv. Serhii is survived by his parents and brother. The hero was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
