Serhii O. Burdov (Senchik)

Senior Sergeant Serhii Burdov (call sign Senchik) was killed on April 3, 2022 during enemy shelling while performing a combat mission near Marinka in the Donetsk region. The defender was 50 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Demyanivka, Luhansk region. After school, he graduated from a vocational school. He served in the army, then worked as a tractor driver. Later, he got a job as a stoker at the local school. Whenever possible, he also helped his neighbors with household chores. In April 2021, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa, holding the position of infantry fighting vehicle commander. He participated in the Joint Forces Operation. He met the full-scale invasion in the Donetsk region, which he continued to defend against the occupiers. "He was a very kind and sensitive person, always the first to respond to a request for help, and he loved his loved ones very much," said the deceased's niece Karina. The defender was buried in the Poltava region. Serhii is survived by his wife, daughter, brother, and sister.
