Serhii O. Danko (Elektrik)

Soldier Serhii Danko (call sign Electrician) was killed on June 5, 2023, in battle with Russian occupiers near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The warrior did not live to see his 37th birthday by 5 days. Serhii was from the city of Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from the Dnipro State Agrarian and Economic University, obtaining a degree in agricultural mechanics. Later, he completed courses to become an electrical equipment repairman. In civilian life, he worked as an electrician, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment at the "Interpipe Niko Tube" company. He was interested in cars and motorcycles. He grew an orchard and grapes. During the full-scale Russian invasion, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to protect his home and loved ones from the enemy. He served in the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. He courageously carried out combat missions in the hottest areas of the front, went through fierce battles, and believed in victory above all else. "For the whole family and comrades, Serhii was a reliable friend. Cheerful, kind, he always helped everyone," his sister Svitlana said. The hero was buried in his native Nikopol. At home, his parents, sister, relatives, and friends were waiting for him.
