Serhii O. Dukhnovskyi

Warrior Serhii Dukhnovsky (call sign Dukh) was killed on February 8, 2024, near the settlement of Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk region. In the battle with the occupiers, he suffered fatal injuries during a mortar shelling. The defender was 36 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Novi Biliari, Odesa region. He lived in the city of Pivdenne. He obtained the profession of a gas and electric welder at a vocational school. For the last 8 years, he worked at the "TransInvestService" company, holding the position of a railway welder. He loved music, played the guitar, wrote poems and songs. During the full-scale war, in July 2023, Serhii was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a senior rifleman-operator of the infantry section of the 28th separate mechanized brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. He fought in the Donetsk region. In the autumn, he was wounded. After rehabilitation, he returned to the East to his comrades-in-arms. "He was a sensitive, kind, and very positive person. He remained forever a loving husband and the best father for his sons," said the wife of the fallen Marharyta. Serhii was buried in the city of Pivdenne, Odesa region. The defender is survived by his mother, older brother, wife, and two sons.
