Serhii O. Honcharenko

Soldier Serhiy Honcharenko was killed in action on July 26, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Dolyna in Donetsk region. The fighter received fatal injuries during an enemy tank shelling. The defender was 29 years old. Serhiy was born in the village of Mashivka, Poltava region. In 2011, he graduated from Selechna comprehensive school. Then he stuwas killed in action at Karlivskyi Professional and Technical School No. 50, received the profession of a manual arc welder. He worked as a grain processing operator, later became a loader driver. In his free time, he loved to fish. During the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland from the occupiers. He served in the 90th separate airmobile battalion named after Hero of Ukraine Senior Lieutenant Ivan Zubkov of the 81st separate airmobile brigade. He was a gunner-number of the crew. "He was a wonderful father, a good friend, always ready to lend a helping hand. Kind and sincere. He had many plans for the future. With a sparkle in his eyes, he watched his sons grow and was proud of their achievements. He wanted to teach them everything, but didn't have time. Now he will forever remain in the hearts of his children and relatives," said the wife of the deceased, Albina. The defender was buried on the Alley of Glory in his native village. Serhiy left behind his mother, wife, and two sons.
