Serhii O. Hovorov

Junior Sergeant Serhiy Hovorov was killed on June 4, 2022, during a shelling by Russian troops of the village of Bohorodychne in Donetsk Oblast. The defender was 41 years old. Serhiy was born in the village of Chervone, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. He graduated from the Kryvyi Rih Mining and Electromechanical Technical School with a degree in "Technical Maintenance and Repair of Equipment for Metallurgical Enterprises". He worked at the Central Mining and Enrichment Combine. After serving in the army, he returned to the same job. From 2007 until the start of the war, he worked in the mines of the Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant. In 2014-2015, Serhiy served in the mobilization and took part in the ATO. Upon returning to Kryvyi Rih, he continued to work at his native enterprise. He was the mechanic of the "Hvardiyska" mine section. On March 1, 2022, Junior Sergeant Serhiy Hovorov was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the fighter took the position of senior shooter. Already an experienced warrior, he went to the front lines to fight against Russian occupiers. However, this time it was already the last. "He was a very good host. He showed me how to make fences himself. A very hardworking person, a very good friend. He loved fishing and enjoyed life very much," said the warrior's comrade Mykola Ostrovskyi. The defender was buried in Kryvyi Rih. At home, his wife Iryna, daughter Anastasia, and son Roman were waiting for him.
