- Senior soldier Serhiy Korobeiynyk was killed on October 31, 2022, in a battle with the enemy near the village of Kurdyumivka in Donetsk region. The warrior was 50 years old. Serhiy was born and lived in Chernihiv region. He graduated from school in the village of Valky. He then studied at vocational and technical school No. 34 in the city of Pryluky. After completing his mandatory military service, he became a gas-electric welder. He worked for about 18 years at a factory in his specialty. He loved walking in the forest. In his free time, he went fishing and mushroom picking. Since February 2015, he participated in the ATO/OOS in Donbas as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in various brigades and was in all the hot spots of the front. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Serhiy defended Ukraine as part of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Konstantin Ostrozhsky. He was a commander of a machine gun platoon. "My brother is a true Hero. He always remained faithful to his ideals, his convictions, his commitments. I am proud that Serhiy is my brother," said Maryna Korobeiynyk. "He loved his native village and Ukraine with all his heart. In the memory of relatives, friends, and colleagues, Serhiy will forever remain sincere, honest, brave, energetic, cheerful, and sociable... An irreparable loss not only for relatives and our community but for all of Ukraine," noted the Pryluky community. The serviceman was buried in his native village of Borshna in Chernihiv region. He is survived by his parents, brother, and sister. On January 20, 2023, a memorial plaque in honor of Serhiy Korobeiynyk was unveiled on the walls of Valky Secondary School of I–II degrees.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
