- Lieutenant Serhiy Moroz (call sign Shahid) was killed during a rocket attack on November 8, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near Svatove in the Luhansk region. Serhiy was from Donetsk Oblast and lived in Sloviansk. He graduated from local school No. 18 and the Sloviansk Aviation College, then joined the State Emergency Service. Later, he enrolled in the National Aerospace University named after M. E. Zhukovsky "Kharkiv Aviation Institute." He served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 2015 and participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). During the full-scale war, Serhiy commanded an engineering-sapper platoon of the 106th Separate Battalion of Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "An incredible person who died in Luhansk for the future of our children! The last meeting with you, Brother, was so brief. You saw our Valkyrie and stopped to greet us. We always looked forward to meeting you, but unfortunately, they were short, just 5 minutes... However, during those times, we managed to tell each other a lot. Now I realize that there won't be those 5 minutes... I remember how we met: you came to our fighters' club and started training; it was very hard, but you didn't give up. That was impressive. There are none like you. You are unique, kind, sincere, and brave, always in a good mood. We miss you, Serhiy... When the war started, you were one of the first to go and stop the enemy. I am very grateful to fate for the friendship with you. ALWAYS ALIVE, ALWAYS NEAR!" — wrote volunteer Oleksiy Yukov. "He was a very friendly and strong person, a commander of sappers; it's people like him who hold the Armed Forces of Ukraine together. Eternal glory to the Heroes of Ukraine!" — wrote Volodymyr Budarin. The officer was buried in the village of Bylbasivka in Donetsk Oblast. Serhiy is survived by his parents.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
