Serhii O. Mykhailenko (Khasia)

Senior soldier Serhii Mykhailenko (call sign Khasia) was killed on October 13, 2023 near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. In the area of the village of Klishchiyivka, he received fatal injuries in a battle with the occupiers. The defender was 32 years old. Serhii was born in Haivoron, Kirovohrad region, where he lived most of his life. In 2006, he graduated from local school No. 5. He then entered the Haivoron Mechanical Engineering College, specializing in "Maintenance and Repair of Automobiles and Engines", which he graduated with honors. He decided to continue his studies at the Kirovohrad National Technical University, which he graduated from in 2012 with a degree in "Mechanical Engineering", and in 2013 he obtained a master's degree in "Hoisting and Transport, Road, Land Reclamation Machines and Equipment". After his studies, he moved to live in Uman, Cherkasy region, where he worked at the Uman Greenhouse Complex. On February 24, 2022, the man decided not to stay aside and went to defend his own family, the integrity and sovereignty of the Motherland. On March 1, he was called up for military service by mobilization to the guard company. On May 5, 2023, he was transferred to the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar". "There is so much I want to say, to write... but no words can convey my love for him, my respect, my sorrow for him. I love him boundlessly and I am proud of him. He was my life, my happiness, which is no more," wrote the wife of the fallen warrior, Oleksandra Palamarenko. Serhii was buried in the Alley of Defender Heroes in his native Haivoron. The warrior is survived by his parents and wife.
