Serhii O. Porokhnytskyi

Artilleryman Serhii Porokhnytskyi was killed on November 28, 2022, while performing a combat mission in the Druzhkivka area in Donetsk region. The defender was 22 years old. Serhii was from the city of Vinnytsia. He graduated from the 7th grade of local Lyceum No. 20, and then stuwas killed at the Prykarpattia Military and Sports Lyceum. In 2017, he enrolled in the Vinnytsia Higher Vocational School of the Police Protection Department. Then he worked abroad. In 2020, when he returned home, he married his beloved Nadiia. During the full-scale war, Serhii joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to defend his country. During his service, he became fascinated with the army and decided that he wanted to connect his life with the military profession. He served under a contract in the 44th separate artillery brigade named after Hetman Danylo Apostol. "Serhii loved life, always thought about the future, promised to return with victory. He was the soul of the company, a reliable comrade. He always knew how to listen and support. Serhii was and remains a Hero of Ukraine for his family. In his eyes were bravery, courage, determination and confidence. He always rushed into battle first, but at the same time kept a cool mind. A true Hero, he had a kind, bright and open soul and a strong character. With his family, he was soft, gentle, caring, and loved children. He was a wonderful brother, a caring son and a loving husband. For us, he is alive. We are still waiting for him and love him very much. Serhiiko is my angel who will always be with me," said the sister of the fallen Yuliia. The serviceman was buried in the village of Vinnytski Khutory in the Vinnytsia region. At home, Serhii was waited for by his parents, sisters, wife, aunt, brother, grandmother and grandfather, and a large family.
