Serhii O. Vivdych (Kramer)

Major Serhiy Vivdich killed in action on March 9, 2022, in battles in the Kyiv region. The officer was born in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region. He dreamed of becoming a military man since childhood. In 2014, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 19th Separate Rocket Brigade "Saint Barbara", and it was in its ranks that he defended Ukraine from occupiers. "Since the aggression that began in 2014, I was called up for military service to protect the territorial integrity and independence of our Ukraine. During this time, I served in a military unit. Despite my age, I tried and did everything to ensure that there was peace and tranquility in our country, that the sky was peaceful. And now this aggression has turned into a war, during which our comrade, brother, senior commander was killed. This is a huge loss for our unit, for our Ukraine," said the deceased warrior's subordinate, Oleh. According to comrades and subordinates, Major Vivdich was honest, fair, intelligent, and kind. They note that he was a good officer and a professional in his field. He always helped, supported, explained if something was not known, taught. At the time of the full-scale war, the major's family was in Kramatorsk, and only after February 24 did he evacuate them to Khmelnytskyi. But he himself returned to defend the country. The officer from severe injuries sustained during the execution of a combat mission. His crew was hit by fire from a Russian drone. The warrior was buried in the city of Khmelnytskyi on March 12. Serhiy is survived by his wife, mother, son, daughter, and grandson.
