Biography
Klymenkov Serhiy Petrovych was born on November 6, 1975. After graduating from school, he was drafted for mandatory military service. After demobilization, he was employed at the Central Mining and Processing Plant (CGZK), where he worked as an operational duty officer in the security department of the economic security management. From 2001 to 2005, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Upon returning to civilian life, he worked as an underground miner at the Dry Balkans Construction Management, and later at the "Hvardijska" mine. For some time, he worked at the "Drazhnyk" mining cooperative and "Interlok-Kryvyi Rih" LLC. In 2009, he transferred to the "Zhovtneva" mine, where he worked as a tunneler in section No. 7. With the start of the war in Eastern Ukraine, he was called to military service in the 17th Separate Tank Brigade. He participated in battles for the cities of Ilovaisk and Debaltseve. He suffered several concussions and was wounded three times. In 2014, he was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree. He was a sincere patriot of his country, having repeatedly served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, defending the sovereignty and integrity of his homeland during the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and Joint Forces Operation (JFO). He held the rank of sergeant major and served in the reconnaissance platoon of the 17th Separate Tank Brigade. He was killed on March 21, 2022, as a result of an enemy shell explosion while performing a combat mission (location unspecified). He is survived by his wife and son.Burial place
