Serhii P. Kyforenko (Kif)

Soldier Serhii Kyforenko (call sign Kif) was killed on May 4, 2023, in the area of the village of Hryhorivka in the Donetsk region. The defender's life was cut short by an enemy mortar attack. The warrior was 51 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Sekretarka, Mykolaiv region. He studied at Trydubska Secondary School No. 1. He then mastered the profession of an electrician at the Odesa Technical College of Communications. In 1989-1991, he served in the regular military service. In civilian life, he worked in various fields of activity. His last job was at PJSC "Ukrnafta," where he was a security guard. He was interested in antiques and numismatics. The man joined the ranks of the defenders in September 2022. He served in the 119th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Initially, he was involved in the defense of Chernihiv, and in March 2023, he went with his comrades-in-arms to defend the Bakhmut direction. "The father was an example and a mentor in life. Honest and fair. The family was always the top priority," said Yevhen Kyforenko. Serhii was buried in the settlement of Ladan, Chernihiv region, where he lived with his family. The defender is survived by his wife Kateryna and sons Dmytro and Yevhen.
