Serhii P. Mykhailov

Born on January 26, 1976, in the city of Novograd-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr region. Russian. Graduated from general education school No. 7 in the city of Novograd-Volynskyi. On May 7, 1996, he was enlisted for military service under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since 1996, he served in the 30th Guards Tank Division (since 2003 - 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade) of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409, city of Novograd-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr region), his last position was commander of the radio section of the communications platoon of the mechanized battalion. Since the summer of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On September 3, 2014, Senior Sergeant Mykhailov sustained serious injuries while serving in the anti-terrorist operation zone. On the same day, the serviceman was transported to the military hospital in the city of Kharkiv with the diagnosis: blast injury, closed traumatic brain injury, concussion, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety state. On September 5, Serhiy Mykhailov was transferred to the military hospital in the city of Kyiv, and from there on September 6 - to the military hospital in the city of Zhytomyr. On September 17, he was discharged from the hospital and sent for rehabilitation, but the next day, on September 18, the serviceman suddenly died. On September 19, 2014, he was buried in the city cemetery of Novograd-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr region.
