Serhii P. Nazarenko

Soldier Serhii Nazarenko was killed on July 6, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Petrivka in the Kharkiv region. The fighter was forever 36 years old. Serhii was born and lived in Kharkiv. He studied at secondary school No. 19. Later, he graduated from the Kharkiv Professional Electrotechnical Lyceum, obtaining the specialty of an electric gas welder. He worked in his specialty. He loved children very much, especially his godchildren: Nastia and Stas, and his nephew Kyrylo. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man without hesitation joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his native lands from the occupiers. He served in the 92nd separate mechanized brigade named after the Koshovy Otaman Ivan Sirko. He held the position of a machine gunner. He took part in the defense of the Kharkiv region. "My brother was a just and very kind person. He loved children, respected older people, and never passed by those who needed help. His death is an immeasurable pain in our hearts," wrote the deceased's sister Yuliia. "It is impossible to convey in words the grief of the relatives, the pain of the combat comrades... Nothing and no one can heal their wounded hearts. We bow our heads in mourning for the hero, who should have had a long and happy life ahead of him. But now he is forever 36... We will not forget... We will not forgive..." noted the Bohodukhiv City Council. The defender was buried in his native village. Serhii is survived by his parents, sister, civil wife, relatives, and friends. Posthumously, soldier Serhii Nazarenko was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
