Serhii P. Sokolenko (Sokol)

Senior soldier Serhii Sokolenko (call sign Sokil) was killed on April 20, 2023, during the defense against the occupiers in the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. In March, the warrior turned 32 years old. Serhii was born in the village of Velyka Ofirna, Kyiv region. He graduated from 9 grades of the Malosnitivska school. Then he continued his studies at the Fastiv Lyceum. He obtained the profession of an electrical engineer for railway transport at the State University of Economics and Technology of Transport. He worked at the enterprise "Prefrab" and held the position of production manager. During the full-scale war, Serhii fought for Ukraine in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was a fighter of the 4th Brigade of Special Purpose named after the Hero of Ukraine Sergeant Serhii Mykhalchuk. "Sensitive, kind, always came to help, purposeful. He always found a way out of any situation. From the first days, he went to the territorial defense and voluntarily defended Ukraine," said the sister of the fallen Liudmyla. The national guardsman was buried in the Alley of Glory of the International Cemetery in Fastiv. Serhii is survived by his parents, brothers, sister, beloved girl, relatives and friends.
