- Serhiy Pavlovych Veremiy was born on June 4, 1980, in the town of Tsuman, Kivertsi District, Volyn Region. In March 2022, Chief Sergeant Serhiy Veremiy was called up to the ranks of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine as part of the mobilization. From October 1, 2022, Serhiy Veremiy took direct part in repelling the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. The group of border guards, which included Serhiy, bravely carried out complex combat tasks to cover positions during the advance of Russian troops in the area of the village of Kovalivka, Luhansk Region. On January 4, 2023, an enemy tank shelled the firing position of the platoon stronghold "Point 44" for over an hour. The personnel did not leave their designated positions and continued defensive actions. During the battle, Chief Sergeant Serhiy Veremiy sustained injuries incompatible with life. For personal courage and selfless actions demonstrated in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, Chief Sergeant Serhiy Pavlovych Veremiy was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.Memory Book of the MIA System
