Serhii R. Palichuk (Okun)

Soldier Serhii Palichuk (call sign Okun) was killed on January 5, 2024, a day before his 53rd birthday, while performing his official duties near the village of Bohdanivka in the Donetsk region. As a result of a hostile drone attack, he suffered a fatal injury. Serhii was born in the town of Armyansk in Crimea. He was a resident of the village of Zrub-Komarivskyi in the Chernivtsi region. He had a secondary education. He worked in construction. In his free time, he loved to make wooden products and go fishing. With the start of the full-scale invasion, the man went to defend his family. He joined the ranks of the 107th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He proved himself a courageous warrior and a reliable comrade. "My dad was always cheerful and charged everyone, including his comrades in service, with his positivity. For us, he is not only a loving dad, husband and grandfather... He is our Hero," said Svitlana Franchuk. The military man was buried in the village of Zrub-Komarivskyi. Serhii left behind a wife and five children.
