Serhii R. Pyshchalka

Lieutenant Serhiy Pyshchalka was killed in action on April 23, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Arkhangelivka in the Kharkiv region. The officer was 24 years old. Serhiy was born in the town of Mykolaivka in Donetsk Oblast. He stu at the local school No. 1. After the 9th grade, he entered the Sloviansk Energy Construction College, where he obtained the profession of an electrician installer. He then enrolled at the Ivan Kozhedub Air Force University in Kharkiv, specializing as an electrical engineer. He also stu in the reserve officer faculty. In 2021, Junior Lieutenant Serhiy Pyshchalka participated in combat operations in the area of the Joint Forces Operation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. He was the deputy commander of the reactive artillery battery for moral and psychological support of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar." He later received the rank of lieutenant."Serhiy will forever remain in our memory as a kind, just, and smart guy, a role model for his family and comrades from his unit. He was a true warrior, born to be one, and he defended us all. His life motto: only forward! He always had a smile on his face. He constantly said, 'Everything will be fine, don't worry, I know everything.' He was a political officer, a driver, a good friend... He was someone who was respected and valued," wrote Serhiy's mother.The officer was buried in the village of Volodymyrivka in Donetsk Oblast. Serhiy is survived by his parents, sister, wife, and daughter. Posthumously, Lieutenant Serhiy Pyshchalka was awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.
